6 issues of the New York news weekly Gay.

6 issues (numbers 2, 4, 6, 8, 22 and 32), each 20 pages; generally minor wear. New York: Four Swords, December 1969 to September 1970.

A spin-off of the heterosexual porn magazine Screw, which had been founded by Jim Buckley and Al Goldstein and gained publicity through a series of important obscenity cases. Buckley and Goldstein are here named on the masthead as "Wizards." Full of coverage of the young gay liberation movement, and other countercultural news stories. The 15 December 1969 issue features a cover story on Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger: "What Makes Mick Mighty? Can He Be All Sexes to All People?" Leroi Jones is denounced for homophobic comments; the 14 September 1970 issue praises Huey Newton and the Black Panther Party for their support of gay liberation.
