This lot comprises three mid-20th-century Wedgwood ceramic trinket boxes of varying materials and decorative styles. The first box is crafted from bone china and features a turquoise glaze. The lid contains a central scalloped white reserve decorated with a monochrome grey-and-black botanical motif of thistles and pine needles. The rim of the lid is finished with gold gilding. The base matches the turquoise glaze of the lid and is accented with small pine needle sprigs. The underside features a gold circular mark reading WEDGWOOD BONE CHINA MADE IN ENGLAND along with the handwritten pattern number W 3981 and a small 2. The second box is a Queen's Ware earthenware piece featuring a solid teal glaze over molded relief. Part of the Zodiac series, the lid depicts the Gemini sign represented by two figures surrounded by celestial symbols. The underside bears a blue circular backstamp reading OF ETRURIA WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND BARLASTON and includes the incised number 6046. The third box is a Queen's Ware earthenware piece decorated with a floral motif. The lid has a white ground with a transfer-printed black floral spray and hand-painted pink blossoms. The lid rim and the base are accented with silver or platinum luster, including a wavy line pattern around the bottom. The underside features a red circular backstamp reading OF ETRURIA WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND BARLASTON and the handwritten characters SS.D. All three boxes are rectangular in form with rounded corners and bear Rubin Collection stickers and inventory tags on their bases.
