  • Literature: This so-called 1 dollar medal issued in 1935 has diameter 1.25 inches. Design by William Henry Jackson, the Research Secretary of the Oregon Trail Memorial Association. Struck by Whitehead & Hoag. There was similar a so-called 50 cents medal of the same metal and most probably of the same size. It was considered to be struck in 1947
