SN 135. Cal. 22. Interesting single shot target pistol with a 12-3/4" oct bbl, having drift adjustable front and rear sight. Bbl marked "A.F. STOEGER, INC. / NEW YORK CITY." German "BUG" proofed on left side of bbl and repeated on right side of receiver. Made for export as reflected by the "Made in Germany" notation under the bbl. Left receiver is serialed "135" over an encircled "JGA" that likely reflects the manufacturer. Bbl release is accomplished by depressing the lever on the right side of the frame. The "762" on the bbl is an assembly number equally applied to the matched wire shoulder stock that slips through a groove on the buttplate and screws onto the backstrap of the frame that has been fitted with diamond checkered grips. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection of Noted Expert and Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: At least 90-95% orig finish with fading under the frame, under the trigger guard, and over the front and back straps. Grips with sharp checkering and only minimal blunting. No discernible chips or splits. Excellent wire stock whose condition suggests little actual use. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. One of the few shoulder stocked 22 caliber pistols sold by Stoeger of New York. 51568-19 LMA C&R
