When Scott Freeman accepted a job with a small auction company in 1981, he had no idea it was the beginning of a dream career. Within two years, he launched out on his own & obtained his Virginia auctioneer’s license.
Scott’s reputation for honesty, accurate estimation of outcomes, and on-time job completions built a demand for his services that he alone could not fill. He merged his company with Great American Auctioneers in California and the new company became a powerhouse in the U.S.
Scott split his time between the East and West Coasts, but soon wearied of the commute. In 1998, he decided to settle on one coast and focus on auctions, liquidations and remodels on the East Coast.
Scott has extensive experience with all types of businesses, but is considered the best in the restaurant and hotel industries. Scott’s knowledge and expertise have placed him in a position of high demand by bankruptcy attorneys, financial lending institutions and major corporations, but he always makes time for local small businesses. His desire to give back even more to the community led him to seek specialized training in benefit auctions, for which he is highly sought after.
Scott has handled thousands of projects for businesses of all sizes. Some of the more familiar include: Subway Restaurants, Firehouse Subs, Pasha Mezze restaurant, Norfolk Chop House, Gateway Computers, Lockheed Martin, Navy Lodge, Marriott, Days Inn, Bennigan's, the cities of Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton and Virginia Beach, Norfolk Airport Authority, Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, Spaghetti Warehouse and C.H.K.D.
Scott is a current member of the National Auctioneers Association and the Certified Appraisers Guild of America. He is a former President of The Virginia Beach Central Lion's Club; former board member of the following outstanding companies: The Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughter, Retail Alliance & past President of Brookside Condominiums.
