Thomas was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Arthur and Bernice Taylor, owners of the Museum of the Civil War Soldier. Tom grew up in the antiques business learning and appreciating antiques from his grandfather, his father and mother who were all avid collectors. At the early age of fourteen, Tom apprenticed and learned the jewelry business, as well as how to repair watches and clocks, along with the diamond trade. At eighteen, Tom was
Maryland’s youngest pawnbroker, opening the town’s first pawnshop, Westminister Pawnbrokers Outlet, in 1978. Shortly thereafter, Tom apprenticed and learned how to auctioneer at the Westminister Auction Service and soon became one of the area’s
premier auctioneers. Tom specializes in estate auctions of rare antiques, gold, silver, diamonds, watches and antique firearms of provenance
