Roy Avery began his professional journey in 2008 as a licensed Life & Health Insurance Agent with the State of Ohio. In 2009, he earned his AHIP certification, establishing himself as a Medicare specialist. That same spirit of service led Roy, in 2010, to begin working with seniors on a deeper level?helping them downsize their personal belongings through private consignments.
In 2016, Roy met his wife, Lisa, who was active in the resale space through Ebay and Facebook Marketplace. Together, they built a shared vision and in 2017 officially launched their estate sale business. By the end of 2018, they expanded into the world of online auctions, allowing them to reach a national audience and provide even more effective solutions for their clients.
In 2018, they formally established ReCycle NEO, LLC, specializing in estate sales, consignment services, and storage unit liquidations. By 2020, Roy and Lisa set an ambitious benchmark?to consistently sell 1,000 lots per month. Over the past five years, this goal has been the benchmark, which culminates in up to 60,000 lots through our online auctions?a milestone that reflects their work ethic, experience, and community impact.
In 2022, the State of Ohio required ReCycle NEO, LLC to obtain an auction firm license to continue offering online auctions. Rising to the occasion, Roy enrolled in the Walton School of Auctioneering and graduated in 2024. Shortly after, he successfully passed the Ohio Department of Agriculture's licensing exams, officially becoming a licensed Ohio Auctioneer.
Today, Roy remains committed to lifelong learning and enjoys mentoring others.
