Jeff Martens has enjoyed a collection of interesting careers that meet at the corner of curiosity and management—and now officially operate as The Light in the Attic.
For as long as Jeff can remember, he’s been fascinated with things. Movie things. Music industry things. Sports things. Pop memorabilia, mid-century furniture, kitschy kitchen gear, art, lamps, Vespas, model toys, taxidermied Marlins. You name it, he’s collected it.
At the same time, he’s developed real knack for putting things in order. Small wonder.
Jeff spent his early career in the hospitality business, handling multiple phases of operations for the Ocean Property Hotel Group in Bar Harbor, Maine and Key West, Florida. A lifelong Foodie, Jeff later expanded a popular breakfast & brunch Victorian into a doubly profitable restaurant by opening it at night and adding an inventive menu and wine list. He spent nine years as COO for a national Cinema Eatery partnered with Regal Entertainment Group which required refurbishing them from the ground up. Jeff was subsequently CEO at Charleston-based, J-Geiger Shading, pioneers in high tech, Architectural Digest grade shading systems.
Along the way, Jeff and his wife Casey, a partner at MHC Law, have collected properties in Denver, CO, Charleston, Greenville and Pickens, S.C. as well as Asheville and Brevard, N.C. where they now reside in Pisgah Forest on three acres with two daughters, two dogs and an abundance of fresh air and clear mountain mornings.
They’ve bought and sold homes, conducted estate sales, helped seniors downsize, families and military personnel relocate, and had great times doing it.
If that sounds like the way you’d like to work—a seamless, personal, professional, and worry free, experience, Jeff Martens is your guy. And The Light in the Attic should be your next call or click.
