Kenny Lindsay, CAI, CMA, is a nationally recognized and awarded professional auctioneer and personal property appraiser and the founder of American Eagle Auction & Appraisal Company headquartered in Michigan (Metro Detroit), with affiliates throughout the United States.
For over a quarter century, Lindsay has been a driving force in the auction industry, significantly shaping its development. His influential leadership is evident in his various roles as an auctioneer, appraiser, columnist, national speaker, auction school and educational instructor, Expert Witness, and competition judge. His nomination to the NAA Presidential Advisory Board and his appointment as NAA Ambassador in 2018 by NAA President Tim Mast are clear acknowledgments of his impactful leadership and the significant influence he has had on the auction industry.
His certifications underscore Lindsay’s expertise. He graduated from the Certified Auctioneers Institute at Indiana University, receiving the CAI, the highest-earning worldwide designation in the auction industry. He is also one of only 32 auctioneers in Michigan who has exceeded the rigorous certification requirements as a Certified Michigan Auctioneer.
He served a highly successful and productive term on the MAA Board of Directors from 2007-2010. In 2014, he was elected President of the MAA. During his tenure, he was instrumental in creating numerous enhancements to the auction industry. Most notably, he co-founded the MAA Public Promotions Committee and created the ‘Auctions Work!’ promotional campaign, which was later adopted by other states and the National Auctioneers Association.
Kenny Lindsay’s professional success and recognition in the auction industry are extensive, further solidifying his position as a leader. He was selected to the ‘Michigan’s Best’ All-Star Auction from 2006-2013. In 2016, he received the President’s Award of Distinction for being the “most influential” member of the Michigan Auctioneers Association. He was crowned the champion of the 2018 Michigan Ringman Championship and is a two-time auction-of-the-year winner, all of which underscore his leadership and expertise in the auction industry.
Lindsay received the highest possible honor awarded to any professional auctioneer: induction into the Michigan Auctioneers Hall of Fame. Only 43 professional auctioneers in Michigan have received this honor since 1949.
