Mid-Century Modern Estate Auction — Two Days, Serious Design Collection
This isn’t your average estate sale. This is a curated mid-century modern collector’s estate, going to auction on-site in Philadelphia’s Mount Airy neighborhood, Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th - preview and registration open at 11:00 AM, with bidding starting at 1:00 PM both days.
The collection features named-designer furniture throughout, including a Lane Perception suite (double credenza, record cabinet, side table), an Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates sectional sofa and coffee table set (tagged), a Paul McCobb Planner Group bench and bar/credenza, a George Nelson for Herman Miller expandable dining table with six chairs, a Sven Ellekaer rosewood and glass coffee table, a France & Son reproduction of the Hans Wegner Papa Bear chair, and a Brutalist two-piece wardrobe.
Art and smalls include original Dali lithographs, vintage travel posters (including two by Otto Nielsen), ceramics from Jonathan Adler, Kate Spade, and Orla Kiely, a working vintage mid-century stereo cabinet, a Sohmer piano and bench, hundreds of vintage/rare/first-edition books, vintage vinyl, costume jewelry, and men’s and women’s clothing.
