J.W.S. & Co Pine House, SC, circa 1865-70. Beautifully potted and glazed example having fine form and nice runs. The lower edge impressed nicely with maker's mark and then under one handle are letters incised with a finger under one handle that look to be CP or PO. Very compelling decoration. The other handle having II mark. Excellent condition throughout. H12 1/4"

Lot: 2 - Exceptional Edgefield, SC Stoneware Decorated Two Handled Jug

Circa 1850, Edgefield, South Carolina attributed to Collin Rhodes Factory, Shaws Creek. Brilliant and nice size example having excellent form and rich glaze with kaolin decoration at each side. The handsome jug having ovoid form with tooled spout and strap handles. One handle and a portion of the spout having museum quality restoration, otherwise excellent condition throughout. H16 3/4"

Circa 1830, likely Pottersville by Harry Drake. Early example having excellent form and handsome glaze. The jar having five knife marks at the shoulder incised and a single U stamp at opposing side. The rim having a very tight hairline running 3" down the body. The underside of one handle having a small nick, otherwise excellent condition throughout. H16"

Circa 1830, likely Horse Creek Valley. Excellent form having nicely thrown form with handsome rim and well placed and sculpted handles. The jar having an olive tone alkaline glaze and nice stance. Red clay body. The piece having a very tight hairline at the rim along with a small nick to one handle and interior of rim having a chipped edge as well. No restorations. H14 3/4"

Circa 1840, likely Kirkseys Crossroads. Handsome bowl having excellent form and nice runny glaze at interior and exterior with hues of celadon color. The piece having a tight early hairline and two chips to the rim otherwise well kept overall condition. H4 5/8" W12 1/4"

Miles Mill, circa 1890s, South Carolina Pottery Co. The jar having Bristol glaze with wheel decorated shoulder on cylinder form. Some firing flaws to glaze but in as made condition and with no restorations or damage detected. H9 1/2"

Lot: 10 - Beautiful Edgefield, SC Stoneware One Gallon Jug

Circa 1860, attributed to the B.F. Landrum pottery operation. Excellent blob spout with nicely placed ring handle over slight bee hive shape body. The glaze is nice and rich with slight bleeds of iron showing through well. Some nicks to spout which are minor otherwise good condition throughout. H9"

Lot: 12 - Rare Engraving Jefferson's Original Rough Draft of The Declaration of Independence

Printed 1829 in Charlottesville, Virginia by Charles Toppan of Philadelphia Excellent set of the four page document printed by Toppan in Philadelphia. The steel engraved piece was commissioned to be included in the first edition of Jefferson's Writings, edited by his grandson Thomas Jefferson Randolph. This edition was printed in Charlottesville, Virginia and is the first edition of this engraving. Incredibly rare example. Jefferson's rough drafts is in fact the earliest surviving complete draft of the Declaration of Independence. The Composition Draft only exist in partial segments. Well kept condition with yellowing to paper consistent with age and some scattered foxing. The piece is not backed with board or laid down. Housed in a folio for many years by the family that owns the piece and kept out of sunlight, stored professionally. 13" x 8 3/8" size of each page For similar example see Christies July 1, 2026 catalogue Lot 6 The piece is sold from the personal collection of a South Carolina gentleman and scholar.
