Three panel neck guard (shikoro) attached by laces. Fukigaeshi decorated with printed fabric with paulownia crest metal medallions. Horn-shaped metal and brass datemono. An opening, but no apex ornament at the top. Fabric lining at the interior. Lot: 161 - Gregory & Co. (Regent Street London, England) Carved Mahogany Partners Desk 19th Cent., H 30" W 50" Depth 26"

An antique figured mahogany partner's desk from the renowned English furniture dealer Gregory and Company, which was established on Regent Street in London in 1861. (They later moved to Mayfair.) There are four drawers on each side of the desk and a desk drawer in the center, stamped "Gregory & Co. 212 & 214 Regent St. London." The number 1681 is stamped to the right of the Gregory & Co. attribution stamp. All drawers have decorative, coiled brass ring pulls. The top of the desk has a mottled green leather surface decorated with stamped gold foil scroll, shell, feather and star motifs at the edges. Actual measurements are 29.5" tall by 25.5" deep and 50" wide. Provenance: this desk belonged to Lord Dayton. Dimensions: H 30" W 50" Depth 26"
