9 BRITISH TARZAN PAPERBACKS Mark Gouldens Pinnacle Books published a notable UK edition of Edgar Rice
Burroughs' Tarzan series in the 1950s, often in collaboration with W. H. Allen. Collectors recognize these vintage mass-market
paperbacks for their distinct "pulpy" cover art, many of which were illustrated by J.E. McConnell or A.W. Sperry. Note that the series
runs in a much different order than the original books. Included in this lot are TARZAN AND THE LOST EMPIRE (#1), TARZAN, LORD
OF THE JUNGLE (#2), TARZAN AT THE EARTHS CORE (#4), TARZANS QUEST (#5), TARZAN AND THE LION MAN (#7), TARZAN
THE MAGNIFICENT (#14), TARZAN AND THE GOLDEN LION (#20), THE SON OF TARZAN (#21), and TARZAN THE TERRIBLE (#22).

Mark Gouldens Pinnacle Books also published other works by the author. Collectors recognize these vintage mass-market
paperbacks for their distinct "pulpy" cover art, many of which were illustrated by J.E. McConnell or A.W. Sperry. Included in this lot are
A PRINCESS OF MARS (#6), CARSON OF VENUS (#9), LOST ON VENUS (#23), TANAR OF PELLUCIDAR (#29), and THE MASTER
MIND OF MARS (#38). Also included with the lot is the 7th UK printing of THUVIA, MAID OF MARS, a VG- hardcover in a G DJ,
published in 1951 by Methuen & Co. of London, England. The dust jacket uses P. J. Monahans cover art from the April 8, 1916 issue

Magazines editor-in-chief, Leo Margulies, and a partner in 1953. Although not highly regarded by science fiction historians, the
magazine ran for nearly seventy issues, lasting over 7 years. During its run, it published several notable stories, including 3 Robert E.
Howard stories rewritten as Conan yarns by L. Sprague de Camp. One of these is in the set, which includes the 10/54, 11/ 54 (two
copies), 12/54, 1/55, 2/55, 6/55, 10/55, 3/56, 6/56, 9/56, 10/56, 11/56, 4/57, & 3/58 issues. Also included are two issues of MIKE
SHAYNE MYSTERY MAGAZINE (dated May 1971 and June 1972), another magazine published by Leo Margulies. It was one of the
