Lot: 11 - VINTAGE WWII NAVAL PATROL BOAT PT-150 LAMP
Marked "150". Notable WWII actions of PT-150 are: The Battle of the Bismarck Sea: In March 1943, PT-150 engaged Japanese naval forces in the Bismarck Sea, helping sink the crippled Japanese troop transport Oigawa Maru.Submarine Interception: During the same March 1943 operations off New Guinea, PT-150 engaged the surfaced Japanese submarine I-17, which was attempting to rescue Japanese soldiers. When the sub crash-dived to escape, PT-150 strafed its conning tower and dropped depth charges.General "Devil Boat" Operations: Throughout 1943 and 1944, PT-150 served extensively under Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron 8 and 12 in the dangerous waters around New Guinea and the Philippines. These boats were highly effective at harassing Japanese supply lines, performing coastal patrols, destroying enemy barges, and rescuing downed pilots. The Raggedy Ann set is marked with Raggedy Ann and Andy, produced by Grandma's Cookie Jars, and dated 1951. The last stamped item is the tray that is stamped with Royal Doulton Series Ware, by Royal Doulton. All were produced between the 1940s-50s in the USA and England.
