This auction will open with just over 100 rare, uncatalogued and highly desirable boxed Marx O gauge train sets spanning all eras of Marx production.

Following the Marx sets, we will offer a selection of Marx extras, including a small group of loose rolling stock and a few accessories.

15100 Canadian Pacific steam freight, 9638 Allstate diesel freight, 5929 Canadian Pacific military steam, 5927 Commodore Vanderbilt military steam, two 4822 NYC steam freight, 7090 UP diesel M10000 passenger, two 24965 Walgreen’s military steam, 25335 NYC steam freight, 25760 The Allegheny Steam freight and about NINETY more sets in original boxes!

These sets were assembled over many years by a collector who prioritized completeness, accuracy, and the highest grades possible. As a result, several duplicate sets are included because their quality made them too exceptional to pass up.

After the Marx offerings, the auction will transition to postwar Lionel O gauge steam, diesel, and electric locomotives, passenger cars, and a limited selection of freight cars. A small number of modern-era O gauge trains will appear near the end of the catalog, with relatively few accessories overall. This sale is especially well suited to serious collectors and operators.

We will offer more than twenty Pennsylvania GG-1 electric locomotives in Tuscan red and Brunswick green, including solid and five-stripe examples from both the modern and postwar eras by Lionel and other manufacturers. Each postwar Lionel GG-1 has been carefully refurbished to excellent running condition using exact original factory replacement parts and appropriate hardware using correct tools. Some have been repainted/stored, while others remain in original factory finish. No guarantees or warranties are expressed or implied; however, with standard cleaning and lubrication, these GG-1 locomotives should perform exceptionally well after years in static display.

Although this collector’s primary passion was GG-1 locomotives, he also assembled Santa Fe EMD F3 diesel units with the same level of care and attention given to the rest of the locomotive roster.

We will post changes to the website as we get farther into the cataloging process. This auction should contain over four hundred lots of toy trains.

Online bidders pay an 18% buyer’s premium, with a 3% discount for debit card, cash, check, money order, wire transfer, ACH, or other payment methods that do not require credit card processing. Indiana online bidders must also pay 7% state sales tax unless a completed ST-105 exemption form is provided. ACH payments are accepted by phone with no additional fee. Checks, money orders, and similar mailed payments should be sent no later than three days after the auction closes.
