Hubbard, William A.M. A Narrative Of The Indian Wars In New-England...Danbury: Printed by Stiles Nichols, 1803. 8vo. 274 pp, plus1 pp with printer's ad at end. A scarce printing of Hubbard's Narrative, originally dating from 1677. This edition, like others from the same period (1801-3) are from a centennial Boston edition of 1777. Title page with a crude woodcut of the Seal of Massachusetts: A Native American warrior holding a bow in one hand and an arrow in the other. This copy, though having seen several centuries of use, collates complete. Original binding, with front cover crudely resewn to the text block. Leaf decorated boards all but gone, save for a few bits on the front cover. Front free endsheet and flyleaf are mostly present with early owners names (Hine family). Title with stains and a small tear, and a bit of loss at the bottom but still presentable. One page from the preface to the first edition of 1677, followed by a four page preface dated Boston May 27,1777. The complete text follows to page 274, then a one page printer's ad for three other book titles for sale.Two blanks at the end are intact, with more owner's names. So for being in rough shape, it is still mostly intact. And quite scarce in any condition.

Hubbard, William A.M. A Narrative Of The Indian Wars In New-England...Danbury: Printed by Stiles Nichols, 1803. 8vo. 274 pp, plus1 pp with printer's ad at end. A scarce printing of Hubbard's Narrative, originally dating from 1677. This edition, like others from the same period (1801-3) are from a centennial Boston edition of 1777. Title page with a crude woodcut of the Seal of Massachusetts: A Native American warrior holding a bow in one hand and an arrow in the other. This copy, though having seen several centuries of use, collates complete. Original binding, with front cover crudely resewn to the text block. Leaf decorated boards all but gone, save for a few bits on the front cover. Front free endsheet and flyleaf are mostly present with early owners names (Hine family). Title with stains and a small tear, and a bit of loss at the bottom but still presentable. One page from the preface to the first edition of 1677, followed by a four page preface dated Boston May 27,1777. The complete text follows to page 274, then a one page printer's ad for three other book titles for sale.Two blanks at the end are intact, with more owner's names. So for being in rough shape, it is still mostly intact. And quite scarce in any condition.
