A second watch has a gold tone, tonneau shaped case with green chronograph dial and gold tone accents, mounted on green leather strap. KPM BERLIN ARMORIAL PORCELAIN PLATE FOR GRAF VON FINCKENSTEIN, 19TH CENTURY A finely enameled and gilded porcelain plate by KPM Berlin, centered with the coat of arms of the Finckenstein family, the border decorated with gilt and blue scallop motifs in relief. Inscribed "Graf v. Finckenstein" to the underside rim and bearing the blue scepter mark of KPM (Royal Porcelain Factory, Berlin). The Finckenstein family was among the oldest East Prussian nobility, noted for their service to Frederick the Great and the Prussian court.

The firearm features two blued barrels with solid rib and single brass bead sight mounted to a case-hardened frame and walnut furniture with hand-checkering. The receiver bears engravings on both sides of a birding dog along with Ithaca's name and location. The barrels are marked as "Smokeless Powder Steel." Chokes are fixed with the left barrel being Full and the right barrel being Modified. The firearm shows some external wear with much of the case-hardened finish having been worn off and some handling marks present on the barrel and stock. It does also appear that the barrel soldering may have been repaired at one point. Both bores are in excellent condition and lockup remains tight. The firearm features London-stamped Damascus barrels with single brass-bead sight and Ash wood ram rod with brass tips, mounted to a tiger maple stock with fine hand-checkering to the grips, a steel buttplate, and a small spring-door compartment in the toe of the stock for storing spare percussion nipples. The lockplates, hammers, trigger guard, and receiver are finely engraved with bird-hunting scenes and scrollwork motifs, featuring a double gold band under an engraving of a pheasant on the barrel rib. Unfired by the owner and quite possibly never fired in its existence, the gun is in overall excellent condition with a mirror bore. Do not miss this piece of British gunmaking history! ENGRAVED FLINTLOCK LONG GUN An offering of a unique flintlock long gun embellished with carvings throughout the metal barrel and wood furniture. The firearm features a long round barrel engraved at both ends in figural and scrollwork motifs mounted in a full-length stock carved throughout in geometric, floral and figural motifs. The lock mechanism is similarly exquisite with a soldier of antiquity carved into the front face of the frizzen, the top jaw of the cock has been formed into the upper jaw and head of a man and a sardonic face is formed into the mounting plate. Exact origin of the piece is unclear with the only markings being on the tang of the barrel. Overall fair condition with several splits and losses throughout the wood furniture, a section of the barrel tang past the screw is missing and has been filled in with lead. Firing mechanism is functional with engagement on half- and full-cock sears.

LETTERS TO GEN. WM. TEMPLE WITHERS RE: HORSE RACING Approx. (55) Letters and Business Correspondence received by General William Temple Withers, CSA (1825-1889) from roughly 1875-85, regarding the breeding of thoroughbred horses from his Fairlawn Stock Farm in Lexington, KY. Items contained in clear plastic album sheets, individual items vary from letter to postcard size. Withers was badly wounded leading a charge at the Battle of Buena Vista during the Mexican War of 1854, and again during the Civil War, leading the Mississippi Light Artillery at Vicksburg. After the war, he moved to Kentucky and built up from nothing to an empire valued at $6 million, His estate is described in the Jan. 1886 issue of "Wallace's Monthly, as being, arguably, the most well-known stock farm in the world. Ironically, a frequent client at the farm was General U. S. Grant.
