Rounds, Wichita, KS Newhouse Galleries, New York Mr. Gledhill, England Exhibited: The Wichita Art Museum, "Wichita Collects," September 23 - October 14, 1969 Note: Wichita Museum paperwork lists previous exhibition at The Royal Academy, 1838, no. 49 Paperwork includes a typewritten and signed letter to Mr. and Mrs. Rounds from Gilbert Brouillette, dated January 22, 1948, in which he refers to a book on Landseer and states: "Be sure to let Mr. Aquavella or me know when you plan to be in New York City." Also included is a calligraphic manuscript by Paul Hessemer, Bethlehem, PA, presumably commissioned by Newhouse Galleries to accompany this painting. Frontis is a black and white photogravure of the painting itself, followed by a title page, a page with provenance and exhibition history of the painting, a short biography of Landseer, and finally a colophon page with one line crediting Hessemer as the designer and calligrapher of the manuscript. The Newhouse Galleries commissioned similar brochures for other paintings with Hessemer. The red leather binding has bands of gilt decoration, with endpapers of silk moire. With an elaborate hand-carved gilt wood frame.

Frontis is a black and white photogravure of the painting itself, followed by a title page, a page with provenance and exhibition history of the painting, a short biography of Landseer, and finally a colophon page with one line crediting Hessemer as the designer and calligrapher of the manuscript. The Newhouse Galleries commissioned similar brochures for other paintings with Hessemer. The red leather binding has bands of gilt decoration, with endpapers of silk moire. With an elaborate hand-carved gilt wood frame.
