Mr. Doyle was a successful businessman in the electronics and radio/cell tower industry, and his passion for history is clearly reflected in this extraordinary collection.
This entire collection was purchased in the 1990's. Has been displayed in temp controlled glass displays since purchase dates.

The Civil War collection offered here is truly remarkable. It may represent one of the only near-complete collections of signed, limited-edition sculptures by renowned artist Francis Barnum ever presented for public sale or auction.

Francis Barnum's sculptures are crafted from fine pewter. This type of pewter is a high-quality, lead-free alloy primarily composed of tin, along with small amounts of metals like copper and antimony to increase strength, malleability, and luster.

Most of his famous limited-edition pieces were produced by Chilmark Fine Pewter in the United States.



Most "Barnum" pewter statues—specifically those sculpted by Francis J. Barnum—were made in the United States. These collectible figurines, primarily known for their detailed depictions of the American Civil War, were produced by American brands such as Chilmark and Hudson Pewter.
