GUN POLICY

A HAND GUN PERMIT, CCW OR FFL PERMIT IS REQUIRED TO BUY “ANY” HAND GUN OR LONG GUN.

YOU MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD AND A RESIDENT OF NORTH CAROLINA

It is against federal law to sell a gun of any description to a felon. In order to know for sure whether a person has a criminal record, there must be a background check before the sale of a long gun. This IS required by law.

After discussions with the Sheriffs Department and the ATF regarding the sale of firearms at auction, a hand gun permit OR a Concealed Carry Weapon Permit (CCW) will now be required for all firearms sold at our auctions. Therefore, we (Smithey’s Funwood Auction) require you to obtain a pistol, or gun permit or Concealed Carry Permit or have FFL to purchase ANY gun at our auctions. The Sheriffs department will do the background check, issue the permit and you may purchase the gun.

We will have a FFL dealer Brad Gayhardt of Reidsville Sporting Arms on site to handle all paperwork and forms. All guns must be paid for on day of auction and picked up from Reidsville Sporting Arms 111 Gilmer Street Reidsville N.C.  on specified days following the auction! HIS TRANSACTION FEE WILL BE $15 FOR THE FIRST GUN AND $5 FOR EACH ADDITIONAL GUN BOUGHT. THIS FEE WILL PAID WHEN YOU PICK UP YOUR GUN.

BY LAW NO GUNS WIIL BE ABLE TO LEAVE THE AUCTION ON DAY OF SALE UNLESS PURCHASED BY A LICENSED FFL DEALER. ALL OTHERS WILL HAVE TO BE PICKED UP AT REIDSVILLE SPORTING ARMS.

YOU HAVE TO HAVE EITHER A VALID GUN PERMIT OR A CONCEAL CARRY PERMIT TO PURCHASE A HAND GUN. ONE PERMIT PER HAND GUN.IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PERMIT ON DAY OF AUCTION YOU HAVE 14 DAYS TO GET ONE OR YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR MONEY. 

YOU DO NOT BY LAW HAVE TO HAVE A PERMIT TO PURCHASE A LONG GUN BUT YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO FILL OUT A FORM 4473 AND PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK WHEN YOU GO TO PICK UP GUNS AT REIDSVILLE SPORTING ARMS. IF YOU KNOW THAT YOU WON'T PASS THE BACKGROUND CHECK PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PURCHASE ANY GUN AT ALL!

THIS IS AN AUCTION AND WE ADVISE YOU TO INSPECT BEFORE YOU BID! MAKE YOUR OWN JUDGMENT OF THE CONDITION AND VALUE OF ALL ITEMS YOU WISH TO PURCHASE AS A BID IS A BINDING CONTRACT AND ALL ITEMS ARE SOLD AS IS WHERE IS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY, GUARANTEE, OR REFUND.

ALL GUNS ARE SOLD AS COLLECTOR ITEMS ONLY AND SHOULD BE CHECKED BY A COMPETENT GUN SMITH BEFORE DISCHARGING!

Smithey’s Funwood Auction is taking this measure to insure the safety of our sellers and buyers and ourselves. The law states that you must have a permit for any hand gun purchased.  

Should you buy a gun at our auction and not have a permit, we will hold the gun and the money until the permit is acquired (up to 14 days). Should you fail to obtain and present a permit you will forfeit all monies after 14 days.

All purchases must be paid for day of auction.

Should you be from any state other than North Carolina and purchase any gun from our auctions you have to go thru a FFL dealer in your state to receive the gun from our dealer as required by law.

This is being done to insure that neither we, (Smithey’s Funwood Auction) nor the seller we represent is breaking the law by selling a weapon to a felon or person of questionable character. Thereby protecting ourselves and our sellers from lawsuits and protecting our family, our friends and our neighbors from these guns ending up in the WRONG hands!
