Jeff Oberling and his wife Melissa have been in the auction industry for 46 years.
Jeff is a third generation auctioneer. He and his family operated a successful livestock auction for over 30 years. Jeff went to the Missouri Auction School in 1996 and the Certified Auction Guild that same year. Cornerstone Auction Company was started in 1996 selling estates , collections, business liquidations, and more. Jeff acquired a real estate license in 2003 enabling Cornerstone to sell real estate at auction. In 2013 Jeff and Melissa formed Cornerstone Auction & Realty, Inc. selling real estate, land , machinery, jewelry, coins, guns, estates, and more . In 2016 Cornerstone Auction & Realty, Inc. launched their own app for your phone, tablet, or computer for online auctions..
In 2020 Jeff and Melissa paused Cornerstone and moved to Oklahoma working for a large Oklahoma auction company and getting his Oklahoma real estate license. In 2024 Jeff and Melissa moved back to Illinois and continued Cornerstone with a new app and selling the same items they have always sold. Jeff holds the Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate, Benefit Auction Specialist, and Certified Auction Institute designations.
