Arwood Auction Company was founded by David Grant Arwood, II in 1970. Mr. Arwood achieved expert executive skills and knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment as a young man while running his father’s metal manufacturing plant located in Knoxville, TN. He then graduated from the University of Tennessee and shortly after moved to Boston, MA, where he graduated from the Harvard Business School. Mr. Arwood’s vision was to assemble a team of dedicated and professional auctioneers, appraisers, liquidators, and real estate brokers whose knowledge and integrity would be unequaled in the industry. He is considered by many to be the leading authority in commercial appraisals, liquidations, and auctions and was appointed by the governor to be the chairman of the Georgia Auctioneers Commission in 1986. The company began to grow rapidly as it met the needs of the business and financial lending community. Mr. Arwood’s sons, Dave and Luke, began working for the company while attending college and soon after graduated from the Nashville Auction School.Expanding on this legacy, David Grant Arwood III (Dave) modified the name in 2012 to Arwood Appraisal, LLC. Arwood Appraisal, LLC carries a legacy of two generations of experience and includes a staff of USPAP and MAI certified appraisers and liquidators. For over 43 years, Arwood Appraisal, LLC has been offering the highest quality of service and experience for its clients nationwide.
