James G. Murphy is one of the most renowned auctioneers in the Pacific Northwest. His unique talent and business acumen helped grow a small auction company into a national auction powerhouse. Since holding its first consignment auction in September 1970, the James G. Murphy Co. has grown to be one of the largest commercial/industrial auction companies in the United States. Yet the James G Murphy Co. remains family owned and community oriented, a testament to the core beliefs of its founder.

James G. Murphy is past president of the 6,000-member National Auctioneers Association and an inductee to the Auctioneer Hall of Fame.
