After growing up with my parents antique collection and attending firearms auctions with my dad I earned my BA from USM in Portland in American Studies. My parents also had a fine library of antique reference books which I studied constantly. In 1982 I began working for a major Southern Maine auction house where I was able to handle top notch antiques,firearms, paintings and decoys. By 1985 I was helping write catalogue descriptions and doing some auctioneering. In 1986 I became a licensed federal firearms dealer. After graduating from the Reppert School of auctioneering in Decateur Indiana I started Trueman Auction company in 1988. My first catalogue firearms auction was in March of 1989 and realized just over $50,000. From on site estate auctions to selling fish and shrimp at the Portland Fish exchange I have worked for many fine Maine auctioneers. In 2003 I moved to N.H. where I began working as the auctioneer and consignment coordinator for a firearms auction company. In 2004 I received my N.H. auctioneers license and was involved in the consignment of two firearms that the company sold for over $100,000.In 2005 I returned to Maine and Trueman Auction Company became LT Auctions.
