This Clown Cigarette advertising thermometer was sold at a Lyn Liechty Auction on Saturday, April 13, 2013. We discovered it the morning of the auction so it was never advertised. Wasn't sure what to expect so when it was held up, I asked for fifty dollars, a bidder to my immediate left said; "$200.00!" I took his bid and with some very spirited and quick bidding it sold for a final price of $350.00! When I got home that evening I was curious as to the value of this piece so I checked on the internet and discovered one exactly like it had been sold at an online only auction. The selling price? $70.00! Who says the live traditional auction doesn't bring results! And there was no BP!
