http://www.moundcityauctions.com St Louis, MO. Auctioneer Rob Weiman of Mound City Auctions sold this item at an auction in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Antique Marklin "0" Gauge Steam Toy Train in Original Box. (we believe this to be a Marklin, or a Carette) Box marked "Jouets fins - Fine Toys - Feine Spielwaaren. Trade mark. Marque de Fabrique. Fabrik-Marke. Made In Germany". Box features a large color illustration of a train engine pulling several cars towards a tunnel in front of a European landscape. Box has damage - lid is seperate from box, rough edges, and there is no interior labeling or information. Lot includes box, Steam powered model locomotive, three train passenger cars, and 10 pieces of track. The cars bear a mark that reads "CC&Co" painted on the sides. The cars and the engine are stamped "D.R.G.M." which stands for "Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster" a German registry mark used from 1891 to 1945. Train set dates to circa 1900. The train and cars are in good condition, with some wear. The wheels, door hinges, and moving parts all appear to function. Mound City Auctions has set 502 World Record Prices selling collectibles.
