http://www.moundcityauctions.com St Louis, MO. Auctioneer Rob Weiman of Mound City Auctions sold this item at an auction in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Small oil on canvas painting, from an unknown artist. Painting features what appears to be a prison scene, with a Musketeer in the foreground, hands emerging from a barred prison window above his head, and four other visible men standing or kneeling in the foreground, one of whom is half out of the scene. The scene is very dark, possibly inside a dungeon or prison. There is no discernible sign, or name on either the painting or its frame. There is damage to the front of the frame, and there is a gouge in the painting above the head of the kneeling man. The canvas measures approximately 15" x 12", the frame exterior measures approximately 20 1/2" x 17 1/2". Mound City Auctions has set 502 World Record Prices selling collectibles.
