Civil War camp chair belonging to Captain Theodore F. Clarkson, Company D, 96th Illinois Infantry, wounded as a 2nd Lieutenant at the Battle of Chickamauga, Sept. 20, 1863. The chair is hand-decorated and commemorates his time in battle in Georgia and Tennessee 1863-1864. The chair is marked: Capt. T.F. Clarkson, Co. D 96th Ills. Vol., Chickamauga, Atlanta, Nashville, Kennesaw Mt., Resaca, Franklin, Lookout Mt., and Dalton.
