I'm with Lyn on this one. I realize I may be missing out on some $$, but I like to sell live and look the bidder in the eye and if there is a doubt, even ask "did you do it?" while calling bids.

Ok, but that's the reason I thought you meant to say Jim. Even though I tend to be a private person, I do enjoy the interaction during the course of an auction. Can't do that online.

would it be crazy to have system for asking the next highest bidder if they still want the item, and the accidental bidder pay the difference plus BP on that amount. that would help the accidental bidder and the second bidder without hurting the seller.
of course it would require some work by the auctioneer but would help customer relations.

I think the "accidental" bidder would still scream about that and it would probably turn into a huge time waster for the auctioneer who regardless would end up being a bad guy!
