For those that are not so "internet savvy", you are witnessing another form of forum spam, trolls, possible phishing or other activity that may have questionable motives. In the auction business, we are familiar with the saying, "Buyer Beware"... well, when on the internet (no matter what site you're visiting), you should also view anything with a "cautious eye". Keep in mind, Con-artists are often quite good at what they do for a living, too.
Now you might wonder what is sending up Red Flags, for me to make such accusations... First, it's because I'm very cautious about those that pop in with anything that might seem the tiniest bit questionable. So, I did a little checking...
BC Ledger is running three individual AuctionZip Online Auctions for three individual coins (1st Red Flag). He doesn't have any information about his self or a website link in his AZ Auctioneer Listing, but indicates that he's in Florida. His Online Auction shows a Florida License number, so I check the Florida Auctioneer Licensing website and the license number in INVALID
. Here's the link:https://www.myfloridalicense.com/wl11.asp?mode=2&search=LicNbr&SID=&brd=&typ=
(If you have problems with the link, go to http://www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/pro/auct/index.html
& click on "Verify A License", then search for license number 2459.)
So, then I decide to see who Kyle Matthew is and noticed that he is also signed up with AZ as an Auctioneer in MY HOME STATE of TEXAS. Again, NO information about his self or a website link in his AZ Auctioneer Listing, except for an address in the Fort Worth area. So, I checked the Texas Auctioneer Licensing search and there is no one with that name holding an Auctioneer license in the State of Texas.
So, this may be the SAME PERSON (notice how the message breaks are similar in the two posts?) or two guys working together. I would NOT recommend for anyone to bid on the coins listed by BC Ledger... it's probably a SCAM and you are probably just going to lose your money. I.E. BUYER BEWARE!
Now, hopefully Steve is going to see this and delete these two fakes from the AZ Auctioneer Listings. I'll be adding these two names and their addresses to my "watch list", just in case they happen to be in Texas and show up at one of my auctions... even though the names and addresses may be fakes and I always require a Driver's License to register, to keep those Red Flags to a minimum.
