A dead thread but a great topic to bring back alive..

I like to add some funny items to add to the sale when the bidding dies on an item.

Like a T-shirt that says "I love John Denver."

"Suzanne Sommers work out video."

The bidding slows down and I say: "I forgot this item also goes with it." (I pull it out of a bag)

The crowd just laughs! The bidding goes on again... Very funny!

just love the pie idea and think of the additional funds I could have possibly raised with that one at an event I did for a national organizations local charity event last year. I had two state Senators sitting out in the crowd and I know I could have gotten one to take the chair first and the other who was not in the same political party to bid against the crowd till he had a pie in hand.

Could see me pulling a bra or a rubber snake out of a sack also to get bidding going again. Possibilities are endless.

Great stuff guys!

Pulling something out of a bag and saying "Oh this also goes with it really ad some fun stuff to the event!"

If you can somehow link the phrank or gag item to what you are sell It goes over big at the gala event and people will be talking about taht benefit auction for years to come!
