I have been in the auction business for over twelve years and got my BAS the first year they were offering the program. I moved to Canyon Lake, TX three years ago which is about one hour north of San Antonio and one hour south of Austin. I am here to tell you that I have not gotten one offer to do a paid benefit auction yet. All the auctioneers here do them for free. Just this year I have met with some of the largest organizations in the area and have lost the opportunity to auction to a free auctioneer more than a dozen times. I am considering retirement.
Any suggestions?

I'm one of those "Free" Auctioneers Usually do 4-6 Benefits a year. It's my way of giving back to the community and also getting a little more exposer for my business ;) . If it is a cause I can believe in I'm glad to donate some of my time to do something I love to do :D .
