I would like to invite any Illinois auctioneers to come to Ramsey this Saturday, April 3rd to help on the 49th annual Lions Club Community Auction, we start at 9 am on both farm misc & household, cars & trucks at 9:30 and farm equipment and lawn & garden both kicking off at 10. There are eight auction sound trucks committed and all will be selling at the same time. There are normally 2,000++ registered bidder and some rings will be going until around 5 pm. There will be everything under the sun in the auction plus several street vendors will be set up. This all take place 1 block west of U.S. 51 along about 1/2 mile of the old Illinois Central Railroad rightaway. This is one of the oldest and largest auctions of its kind in the entire state. The more auctioneers that show up, gives me less to do and I like it that way. Once again, come see us and check this auction out. HOPE TO SEE SOME OF YOU-IT IS ONE OF A KIND!!!!!

Wow, sounds fun, I'd love to come but have another obligation. Being from that area of Illinois, do you know Trent Schmid or Barkley Barnard?

Hi Alva,

Illinois is auctioneer license state. You are not likely, to get legitimate, licensed, auctioneers to just show up. What are your expectations? What are you offering to those participating auctioneers? Any compensation offered by your organization requires licensure. I hope this helps you.

If you need a local resource I am happy to refer to you some highly qualified charity auctioneers who have a modest fee. I am licensed in Illinois, but reside out of state.

If this is the 49th annual auction then I don't think Alva and others involved will have any problems having enough auctioneers.

This really sounds like something NAA might want to consider doing a featured article on. I only wish I was closer and licensed. It really sounds like something special to me.

I am licensed in Illinois, and I'd come just for the fun and experience, but I have another obligation.
