William Williams (Plymouth, England, 1808-1895) oil on canvas. The painting depicts a landscape scene with 2 figures at a river. The signature is seen on the mid-left, in the trees; the frame has a plaque attached stating the artist, and location of the painting. The verso has a sticker for J. J. Gillespie Fine Arts Gallery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dimensions: 17 1/2 inches tall X 25 1/2 inches wide; 44.5 cm tall X 67.8 cm wide, the frame measures 22 1/2 inches tall X 27 1/2 inches wide; 57.1 cm tall X 69.9 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
