Wall Hanging Jeweler's Regulator Clock in Beautiful Case
In a beautiful flame mahogany case and an eye catching large brass pendulum. These clocks were popular late 1800's in banks and in jewelry stores as they kept very accurate time. So, think about it as a late 19th c. Rolex. With a large porcelain dial behind a wavy glass door and Roman numerals to tell the time with a clear wavy glass front to view the swing of the pendulum. The case measures 23 1/4" wide by 9 3/4" deep with the brass pendulum measuring 12 1/4" in diameter and height of the clock is an impressive 69". Plaque on pendulum reads: "M.L. Sheehan, 785 8th Ave. N.Y." Did find a reference to Sheehan as a clock maker and there are other regulator clocks referenced by his name. Untested but appears to be complete. The winding key is not an original. Last photo shows inside of cabinet where clock rests in place.
