FIRST EDITION. Shokon is the autobiography of Keiichi Tada that explains his achievements during his two voyages to Antarctica during the Japanese Antarctic Expedition, his exploration of Borneo, his failures and talks about his Buddhist faith. Tada served the Japanese Antarctic Expedition as secretary and as assistant naturalist. Soon after the return of the expedition, Tada led an expedition to Borneo. He did factory work and served in the Japanese Army, but his tumultuous life included troubles with alcohol and eventually serving time in prison. Ross 2.1.1 (“Very Rare”).
