Classic Greek hydria, of wheel-thrown pottery decorated with black lead-based glaze and highlighted with series of 5 vertical striped in repeated pattern around shoulder. Below is red horizontal stripe between two black bands above and below horizontal handles. A vessel such as this was used as to mix wine and water. Size: 11" W x 11.5" H (27.9 cm x 29.2 cm)
