Rare Declaration of Independence, First Miniature Printing Published 1836 by L. H. Bridgham, Boston, Massachusetts
Rare First Miniature Printing of the Declaration of Independence - On Coated Card Stock, Published 1836 by L. H. Bridgham, Boston, Mass, Fine or better.
A nice example of the First Miniature Printing of the "Declaration of Independence", by Boston printer L. H. Bridgham, engraved on coated white card stock, measuring a diminutive 5.75" x 4.5" overall. There are a couple of small slight surface scrapes, one at the bottom right corner and a tiny one near the center of the coated card, having some light typical tone. The Declaration itself appears in italic, bold, lower case and capital case micro-text in a block measuring just 2.75" square, which is not readable with the naked eye. The Declaration Signers' facsimile signatures are in a free-flowing paragraph below the text, not organized in columns or by delegates' state affiliations. The text block and signatory panel are enclosed by oak leaf and laurel garlands, the whole surrounded by Thirteen Roundrels depicting the original State Seals, and Crowned by a portrait of George Washington. Just below the Georgia state seal is engraved with the 1836-dated copyright imprint of L. H. Bridgham - Lewis H. Bridgham, (1808-1883), a Boston printer.
