Rare Antique American Indian Tack Decorated Husqvarna Double-Barrel 12 Gauge Shotgun
Swedish-made beauty with 20 1/2" barrels. Great finish on barrels and all the metal areas including the (tight) hammers and triggers. The entire stock is decorated with brass tacks with slightly different patterns on both sides. 100% original and completely intact with its original old parts, screws, butt plate, and shoulder-strap buckles, all of which are in pristine (non-aggressively!!) cleaned condition and extremely well patinated. Acquired by the Indians at some point (actual stage coach robbery? maybe!) and exhibits their traditional geometric patterned tack decorations with a total of 143 all original antique brass tacks, none missing or loose, and all quite stable. Remarkably fine overall condition for a 150+ year old 1870's firearm. Deaccessioned over two decades ago from the Warner Southern College in Lake Wales, Florida, Museum Collection and in our consignor's possession since. Very rare. Most Indian tack decorated recovered firearms are rifles; Springfield Carbines, Henry, etc. This rare antique double-barrel measures 37 1/2" overall length and displays beautifully. Heavens knows the stories it could tell. Don't miss it!!
