American, 18th Century (circa 1750). Boldly shaped top with rounded edges. Base with plain apron, slender tapered turned legs, pad feet and pegged construction. Old paper label to inside reads "The table belonged to Francis Hare, South Egremont Tavern in 1780 was purchased from a descendent of his son, Levi Hare C.F.L." Refinished with repair to one foot. 25.25"h. 33"w. 26"d. Ex Pick Richardson (Reynoldsburg, Ohio). Cataloguer's note: It is believed that those injured in Shay's Rebellion were taken to The Francis Hale Tavern for care. The tavern passed to Levi Hare upon Francis' death.
