Conditions of Sale
We recommend Internet bidders register at least 48 hours before an auction to give enough time to process and approve their registration.
a. Individual clients must provide photo identification (such as a Driver's license, National ID Card, or passport) and if not shown on the ID document, proof of your current address. Also, a copy of a valid Credit Card to hold a deposit
b. Corporate clients must present a Certificate of Incorporation or equivalent documents verifying identity.
For first-time bidders and international bidders, we will ask for a $1000 deposit holding from their registered credit card to get approval for bidding with us. Please note it is not a real charge, just hold to guarantee there are enough funds in the account. If buyers don't win, the deposit will return to your account within 7 business days.
Returning Bidders may be asked for current identifications. A tax document is provided for tax-free. Yakon Auctions has the right, at our complete discretion, to refuse admission to the premises or participation in any auction and to reject any bid. The bidding process will be explained to bidders before an auction. All bidders shall obtain a bidding number before the start of the auction. All bidders shall keep the number under his/her safe custody. The number shall not be lent to any other person(s). Otherwise, he/she shall bear all the responsibilities associated with the use of his/her number for bidding or any other use. All telephone and absentee bid buyers must provide a credit card to secure a bidding number. Once the bidder wins the item being auctioned, he/she will receive an invoice by email within 24-48 hours with instructions regarding payment and shipment of the item. Yakon Auctions reserves the right to require up to 20% deposit from telephone and left bidders bidding on items valued in excess of $10,000.
For some items, we accept offers to purchase them outright both before and after the auction(s). Please send us your request(s) and we will respond accordingly.
PAYMENT
We accept payment by Personal Checks, Certified Checks, Bank Wire transfers, PayPal, and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover). We only accept American Credit Cards to make payments for Invoice amounts under $5000 USD. For American payments of more than $5000 USD, we accept Cash, Personal Checks, Certified Checks, Bank Wire transfers, and PayPal. We do not accept International cards to make payments. For international payments, we only accept American Credit Cards, wire transfers, and PayPal. All payments shall be made in US Dollars. For domestic wire transfers, there is a $30 Bank Fee for charge. For international wire transfers, there is a $50 bank fee for a charge. For PayPal accounts outside the U.S., we will charge a 4.5% transaction fee. For all American Credit Card payments, there is a 3.5% transaction fee. ALL PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED WITHIN 7 DAYS AFTER RECEIPT OF INVOICE, no later than 5 p.m. on the seventh (7) day. An invoice is sent to the winners normally within 2 business days. We will open disputes online if the buyer fails to pay within 7 days. For the payment paid within 7 days, if Yakon Auctions LLC didn't receive the full payment within 2 weeks, we will cancel the sale and reoffer the items. Yakon Auctions reserves the right to cancel the sale and reoffer the items if payment is not clear and will hold the bidder responsible for any loss or other fees or damages incurred (Buyers are required to pay 20% of the hammer price as Liquidated damages). If the bidder refuses to take responsibility for any loss or other fees or damages incurred, the case will be transferred to the attorney and Collection Company for further action. Title transfers only when Yakon Auctions receive full and clear payment of the purchase price and any associated fees. We serve the right to hold merchandise until payment clears. Buyers can only collect lots after their balance due is paid in full. Should payments be made by check or draft, lots will only be released after bank clearance. No excuse will be accepted for non-payment, once the winning bid is finalized. If you do not agree with the basic concepts and principles of auctioning and are not ready to honor your commitments, please do not bid.
EXHIBITIONS
ALL PROPERTIES SOLD AS IS. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO RETURNS. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Though all descriptions and commentary are believed to be correct, neither the auctioneer nor the consignor makes any guarantee of the authenticity of the merchandise. Any descriptions, condition reports, and any other statements are our opinions and are not to be relied upon as facts. We try to describe our items as precisely as possible based on the opinions and judgments of our clients and staff. We do not claim to be experts in all sorts of antiques and artworks. No employees are authorized to make any warranties of any kind on behalf of Yakon Auctions. Potential buyers must rely only on their own inspection of the merchandise.
Yakon Auctions offers free previews and high-resolution photos for potential buyers to review and make their own conclusions about the piece. We strive to reflect the real conditions of our items through pictures. Wears and defects are normally shown with close-up images. All measurements are in center meters, instead of inches. If you need more images and condition reports, please do not hesitate to let us know. We also urge you to ask questions before bidding, if you are not clear about our policies. We will work with you the best we can to ensure your satisfaction.

NO GUARANTEE OF AUTHENTICITY FOR CHINESE STAMPS, COIN, PAPER CURRENCY AND/OR CHINESE PAINTINGS: Description, illustrator, and conditions for Chinese stamps, coin, and/or paper currency are provided as a reference and are not guaranteed by Yakon Auctions, also not guarantee any descriptions concerning Chinese paintings, including authentication, artist and the date of execution. All items sold as-is, no returns.
SUCCESSFUL BIDDER
All items are sold to the highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer. In the case of a tie bid, the winning bidder will be determined by the auctioneer at his or her sole discretion. The auctioneer is the arbiter of any disputed bid. The auctioneer may reopen bidding at his/her discretion and reject bids deemed inappropriate. The auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any item and to reoffer the item at another time. Every effort is made by the auctioneer to execute all bids, including floor, absentee, telephone and internet bids. We are not responsible for any missed bids. Yakon Auctions reserves the right to cancel any sale or bid before, during, and after the auction.
Notice of Autopay:
To help ensure a timely transaction, your card on file will be automatically charged 3 days after sending the invoice for the amount stated in the invoice.
SHIPPING
We help customers deliver their purchases. We will provide shipping quotes or other information after the payment is paid in full. Please send your correct shipping address to [email protected]. Due to the sheer volume of sold items and the large number of buyers/winners of each auction, sometimes we need up to 3 weeks after the payment to have the items ready for shipping. We strive to save postage and shipping costs for our clients while making sure that the items will reach our clients safely. In order to do so, we need to sort, pack, and request estimates from our shippers. All these take time. Therefore, we would like to ask for your understanding and patience in advance. Our staff will be in close touch with our clients to expedite the process.
Special Advice to Buyers/Bidders from China - Upon request, we provide services to pack, ship, and clear customs on our clients' behalf. We strongly advise our clients to use our shipping services to save time and money - especially for those OVER-SIZED HEAVY ITEMS such as LARGE BRONZES AND STONE CARVINGS or fragile items. We will use our branch in China to redistribute the items in China, with assistance provided by local shippers.
All properties purchased from Yakon Auctions must be collected or shipping arrangements made within 45 days of the auction (Sometimes Delayed due to weather or other situations). Yakon Auctions is not responsible for paid items left for over 45 days after the auction date (unless a prior agreement has been made). Items left past 45 days will incur a storage fee of $10.00 per day per item. Once storage fees have exceeded the actual purchase price of the item(s) Yakon Auctions can exercise the right to re-auction.
BUYER'S PREMIUM
A 23% buyer's premium will be added to the hammer price of each lot for bidders. Online bids are subject to an additional charge depending on different internet platforms. The buyer agrees to pay Yakon Auctions LLC. a buyer's premium and the applicable sales tax added to the final total.
SALES TAX
All purchases (including buyer's premium) will be subject to a MA State Sales Tax of 6.25%, unless lots are being shipped out of state, or if the purchaser has a valid Tax Exempt or Resale Certificate (an actual resale certificate must be presented or a copy held on file with Yakon Auctions)
SUPPLEMENTS
Import and Export of Goods Regulations
Some properties sold at auction may include materials from protected or endangered species subject to laws governing imports and exports to or from the United States or other countries. Obtaining licensing for import or export of goods from local authorities is the sole responsibility of the buyer. Denial or delay of receiving an import/export license will not constitute grounds for cancellation or delay in payment for the total purchase price of lots. The buyer is responsible to ensure payment is processed and completed.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION
All disputes and claims arising out of or relating to events and actions covered herein, brought by or against us, shall be resolved by mediation or binding arbitration in accord with the procedures set forth below. This provision does not apply to claims brought by the Buyer directly against the Consignor, including, but not limited to any action brought pursuant to the rescission provisions noted above.
