Melba Style G&T De Luxe Pedestal Disc Gramophone. This impressive machine in its handsome, black lacquer cabinet has its original finish which is in overall good condition with minor wear as well as several minor nicks, chips, and shrinkage cracks throughout. The upper cabinet of the phonograph is nicely appointed with brass columns and pilasters on all four sides which highlight the attractive birds eye maple panels beautifully contrasting the black lacquer cabinet. The front birds eye maple panel bears a celluloid Gramophone & Typewriter trade mark. The machine with its Victor works has a gold exhibition reproducer, tone arm, and elbow, all of which have their original plating in fair condition with usual wear. The horn elbow has several minor dents. The back bracket has original paint and decals with several minor chips and scratches. Has original slotted winding crank and early style, Victor 3 spring motor which winds and runs. The brake is missing its leather insert. As previously stated, there are several shrinkage cracks and open corners but the upper cabinet is in overall good original condition. Has an original Victor, 9 panel black steel horn which is 19" in diameter x 21"L. Original black paint, gold pinstripes, and decal are in good original condition with a few minor nicks and scrapes throughout. The inside of the horn may have been clear coated some time ago. The lower pedestal/record cabinet is the original companion to this machine. As previously stated, the lower cabinet has its original black lacquer finish with some minor nicks, dings, and shrinkage cracks. This cabinet is finished on all four sides and is nicely appointed with raised moldings and plant like carvings. Near the top of the cabinet, there is an accessory drawer which has original pull. Also near top, there are four brass lion heads attached to all four corners. Front cabinet door opens exposing a 6 compartment record storage area as well as a second accessory drawer. Both phonograph and base cabinets measures 47"T. Base cabinet alone measures 40"T x 20"W x 20"D. Also included are several newspaper and advertising pieces. An exceptionally rare find, examples such as these are seldom seen. A real beauty, don't pass this one up. See photos.

Shipping and Pickup Terms: Donley Auctions will provide shipping for smaller items that can ship through USPS, FedEx or UPS. Please allow 2-3 weeks after the item is paid for to be properly packed. You will be emailed an invoice for the cost for shipping and handling within this time frame. Your item will ship once the shipping and handling fee is paid in full and a tracking number will be sent.
Oversized items will require 3rd party transport services. Donley Auctions does not have its own in-house transport or crating services. Upon request, a list of transporters and/or crating companies or will be provided or you may use your own preferred transporter.

Pickup: Donley Auctions will automatically pack all items unless notified at the time of payment that items will be picked up at the auction house. Arrangements for pick up must be made within 14 business days. Any items left over this period, will incur a storage charge of $20 per day unless prior arrangements have been made. After 30 days items that have not been picked up will be considered abandoned and sold to recover expenses.

International Shipping: Donley Auctions will ship items internationally IF the items are small enough to ship through UPS or FedEx. No item can ship internationally through USPS or FedEx if it sold for over $2,499 (Item value). Items exceeding the value of $2,499 will be required to ship internationally through a broker. Donley Auctions does not have an in-house broker. Please make your own arrangements with a broker if the item value exceeds $2,499. Items too large to ship internationally via USPS or FedEX will require a transport company and/or crating. Donley Auctions does not have its own in-house transport or crating services. They can provide a list of transporters and/or crating companies upon request, or you may use your preferred transporter.
