Condition:
This vibrant art print presents in very nice condition. The print itself is crisp and clean, free from any visible foxing or discoloration. The frame, a muted pinkish-brown tone, exhibits light surface marks, minor scuffs, and a few small dings consistent with age and handling, particularly along the edges and corners. The protective glazing is clear, though a light wipe may benefit it. The reverse shows typical wear to the paper backing, but the hanging wire is intact and secure.

Item Description
Weight: 6lbs 8oz

Immerse yourself in the whimsical world of renowned artist Jeff Leedy with this delightful, hand-signed art print, "He Had Everything Just The Way He Wanted It." This captivating piece, personally signed by the artist in the lower right corner, perfectly encapsulates Leedy's unique blend of social commentary, insightful wit, and impressionistic color style. The image itself, measuring 10.86 x 16.1 inches, is beautifully framed and ready to bring a smile to any observer.

Leedy's artistic style is an absolute joy – it’s humorous, lighthearted, and profoundly relatable, often featuring animals in anthropomorphic scenarios that cleverly reflect human quirks and desires. He masterfully uses soft, inviting pastels to create a sense of warmth and familiarity, drawing the viewer into a narrative that is both amusing and thought-provoking. This particular print, "He Had Everything Just The Way He Wanted It," is a quintessential example of his genius. It portrays a supremely contented dog, surrounded by an abundance of fire hydrants – the ultimate canine luxury – while gazing out at a serene beach landscape, where even there, a lone hydrant stands as a testament to perfection. The piece is an emotional celebration of simple pleasures, of finding one's ideal environment, and the sheer bliss of having everything precisely as one desires. It’s a gentle reminder to appreciate the small, often humorous, aspects of life that bring us profound contentment.

About the Artist: Jeff Leedy

People are laughing at Jeff Leedy! They have been for a long time. Art show juries, galleries, and gift buyers are all tickled by his sly social commentary, an insightful, unpredictable wit, and delightful impressionistic color style.

In 1987, the conservative New York Society of Illustrators awarded him their "Gold Funny Bone" in the HUMOR '87 SHOW. Then in 1989, international honor became his.

Jeff Leedy was one of two American exhibitors invited to attend the Ninth International Biennial of Humour and Satire in the Arts in the country that gave this world yogurt: Bulgaria.

Since then, LEEDY's works are currently in Italy, Japan, and Odessa, USSR for the 1990-91 Humor Festival and will probably be seen wherever there is a desperate need for laughs. Albania? Schleswig-Holstein? LEEDY classics like "Demando Cat" and "Breakfast Cat" are currently in distribution here, in Canada, Europe, and wherever the aroma of kitty litter is found.

Commercially, LEEDY has tickled the funny bones of IBM, Qantas, U.S. Leasing, American Express, and a host of other computer types and wine aficionados. He's represented nationally in New York and San Francisco. You'll also find his humorous illustrations tacked up on ad agency walls, in magazines, greeting cards, books, and in people's houses.

Born in the "burbs" of New York City while still young, LEEDY began his art career at age 12 at the Art Student's League of New York (hey, Mozart was only 10 when he wrote...). He graduated from the Syracuse University School of Fine Arts with a BFA in illustration and advertising which eventually led him into a lengthy term with Young & Rubicam in New York. After 15 years in advertising, LEEDY has found self-employment and sanity near the boats and birds in Sausalito, California.

But before you think the life of a humorous illustrator is totally kicked back, come visit LEEDY's Sausalito waterfront studio. Have some laughs. Have some stress. Hey, you try and pay these bills!
