Lot 129: Rare WW II Nazi RR Plaque With Markings 24'' (128 views)

Rare WW II Nazi RR Plaque With Markings 24''
Estimate: $800 - $2,200
Description: Cast from an aluminum alloy with a 24'' wing span 13 1/2'' height and 4 stout mounting lugs which tell us it was intended for use on a locomotive. It's rare to see the original mounts on these highly desired birds because the capturing vets were known for cutting them off, which was often the fastest way to remove them with out causing more severe damage. The reverse is stamped "LOK" over "RZA4" over "BERL" between the eagle's legs. "LOK RZA4" is the " which translates "Locomotive National Train Eagle 4". "BERL" is the abbreviation for Berlin. His right wing is stamped with the manufacturer's trade mark " Illegible'' the element compounds used to create the alloy from which the eagle was cast. Over all this rare and highly coveted bird is in excellent condition with scuff or discoloration spots. Please View Photos Of Back side Numbers,, as we did our best to inform you of what we could find out about this great WW II Nazi piece.
