Connecticut, May 15, 1780-December 10, 1782. Tall 4to. Six leaves. Eight-page manuscript account ledger, being "The State of Connecticut in Acct. with John Squire ACP. of Fairfield". Stab-sewn gatherings; scattered soiling.

"A requisition from Congress upon the States for supplies for the army was also granted during the sitting of the April Assembly. The proportion called for from Connecticut was 78,400 weight of beef, 1,011 bushels of salt, 68,558 gallons of rum, 500 tons of hay. John Squire was appointed to purchase the proportion of supplies to be furnished within the limits of Fairfield and Stratford." (Schenck, The History of Fairfield County, Vol. II, pp. 410-411)
