One of a kind, monumental size, highly repousse and detailed, coin silver tankard with standing, roaring detailed lion holding coins - top coin date is 1591 - bottom coin dated 1646 with ornate garland details. The body of the tankard is highly repousse with three dimensional scenic figures with a beautiful large garland covered nude mermaid figural handle and the three footed base is supported with three roaring, crowned and well-detailed lions each supporting a scroll. Inscribed in Latin a portion of preservation health poem, "Vina Probantur Odore Sapor Nitore Colore" ay base of lid and inscribed "Solo Die Gloria in Nino Veritas Paz Voriscum" at top of lid. On verso of lid dated 1649 in oval circle. Hallmarked on base and on footed lion - CDM - CD M W and cartouche, two marks work illegible from age. Tankard weighs 90 ozt and stands 17"h.
