A pair of two Arequipa pottery tiles, likely dating to 1915-1917. Both exhibit polychrome glazes pooled into molded recesses that make up the design, and mounted to the interior of a frame. Each tile is: 5.75" in height and width. Frame size: 21" ht. x 14.5" wd.

Founded by Dr. Philip King Brown, Arequipa Pottery was a type of arts and crafts-style pottery produced in Marin County, California, in the United States from 1911 until 1918. The pottery produced at Arequipa was part of the rehabilitative therapy program at Dr. Brown's sanatorium for women.

  • There is minor loss, especially to the corners and edges of each tile
