The female figure standing with bent legs, elongated torso with spaced curved vertical lines, arms alongside and umbilicus is attributed to the African Adan People of Ghana. Female carvings are said to contain the spirit of the ancestor. 1. The depiction of a female figure with long protruding ears attributed to the African Akan Tribe of Ghana and the Ivory Coast does not exhibit recognizable features that occur in nature, it could be the half rabbit half female from African Akan folklore Ananse which can change form sometimes depicted as a human.
