Lot 1354: Vintage ESTATE EPHEMERA Antique Pulp Fiction New Zealand Various Academic Articles (105 views)

Vintage ESTATE EPHEMERA Antique Pulp Fiction New Zealand Various Academic Articles
Estimate: $70 - $200
Details: This curious lot of estate ephemera ranges from antique, turn-of-the-century pulp fiction to vintage academic bulletins in four different languages. Buffalo Bill stars in two of the pulp novels. Among the ephemera are two bulletins dated 1969 and 1970 in Polish about aspects of traditional dress in Poland. Eight magazine-formatted pictorial surveys cover New Zealand in the late 1920s, and a vintage publication of unknown date considers arts and crafts in India. A print folio of paintings by Max Beckmann has text in German. Scholarly treatises in French narrate an ornithological expedition to Madagascar in 1932 and a 1939 bulletin on dynamic symmetry in architecture. In English, an 1820 pamphlet reports on the state of religion and literature in Spain, a 1946 treatise analyzes Zapotec dialects, and a 1956 article explains the contemporary reaction to the massive, highly destructive earthquake in Lisbon in 1755. Lastly, a booklet by Rudolf Steiner discourses on the balance in the world between Lucifer and Ahriman.
