KPM PLAQUE AFTER FRANCISQUE-EDOUART BERTIER (1842-1925)
The painted porcelain plaque with impressed scepter mark and impressed letters KPM back side is painted fully by hand without decal or transfer replicating a composition after Francisque-Edouard Bertier (1842-1925) sometimes referred to as Pick of the Harem. It depicts a woman accompanied by her attendant and holding a large plume fan before a gold drape pulled back enough to show an octagonal Moroccan Moucharabieh tea table. The porcelain plaque is displayed in a wide ornate Victorian frame and is unsigned. Sight size measures 9.25 x 6.5 with a framed size of 24 x 20.75 inches.
